Why Flojourn Uses Web-App Architecture
Flojourn runs in your browser, so it is easier to open, share, and keep up to date across all your devices.
Flojourn is a web app, which means it runs in your browser instead of being downloaded from an app store.
That gives you some practical advantages every day:
- Open instantly, with no app-store install
- Share journals and entries with normal web links
- Use it across phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops
- Stay in sync between devices
- Always use the latest version automatically
Set up quick sharing
Using Flojourn does not require installation, but there are a couple of simple setup steps if you want to share links into Flojourn directly from your browser.
Inside Flojourn, open your user name in the NavList and choose Tools. You will see tabs for Desktop, Android, and iPhone/iOS. Flojourn usually selects the right tab automatically, but you can switch any time.
Add to Android Home Screen
If you use Flojourn regularly on Android, add it to your home screen.
This does more than make launch easier. It also adds Flojourn to your device share sheet, so from your browser you can share a page URL directly into Flojourn.
Flojourn opens the new entry editor, where you can choose a journal and add tags or comments before saving.
Add iOS shortcut for iPhone and iPad
On iPhone and iPad, install the Flojourn shortcut to make saving pages fast while browsing.
After that, choose the Flojourn shortcut from the share menu on any page.
Flojourn opens the new entry editor, where you can choose a journal and add tags or comments before saving.
Install a Bookmarklet on your Desktop Browser
In desktop browsers, make sure your bookmarks bar is visible. Then open Tools from your username menu in Flojourn. You will see an Add to Flojourn button.
Drag that button to your bookmarks bar.
When you are on a page you want to save, click the bookmarklet to open a new Flojourn entry with the page details filled in. If you highlight text before clicking, that text is copied into the entry too.
